Inspiration
Who? Artist...
Charles M. Candelario was born
on December 29th, 1971 on Long Island, NY.
He was raised in East Islip, N.Y. and has been living just outside
of Orlando, Florida
for the past 10 years. Besides high school art, Charles has been
self-taught in all his
artistic endeavors. He considers himself mainly an impressionist
and watercolor artist,
but he is also a singer, actor, and now a people-painter
What? Technique...
People painting is a process
of taking a live model, painting a background,
and painting the models skin. The result is then photographed,
enlarged,
and framed. No computer graphics were involved in making these
pictures.
Why? Inspiration
As an artist, Charles has always
thought "outside the box".
Whether he is sculpting or ripping a canvas open, he never
seems to stay on your typical canvas you buy at a craft store.
He has been an impressionist
painter for almost 10 yrs and wasn't
satisfied. He could no longer achieve his "outside the box"
effects
with a brush, paint, and canvas alone. So his next step was to
include live models in his pictures
He has often been compared to
Jackson Pollock,
but he has mostly been influenced by Vincent Van Gogh,
Keith Harring, and Andy Warhol.
To get another perspective on
what people painting is,
Charles recommends these movies: "Where the Heart is"(With
Dabney Coleman
and Uma Thurman), "The Cell", and "What Dreams
May Come".
